Eagle Rock is a working farm with a Farm Manager onsite who you may see working on the Farm.
The Lodge was designed and built by a Canadian to be like the lodges in the Canadian Rocky Mountains – it’s perfect for our Southern Highlands climate. There is no air-conditioning as we really don’t need it! In winter the east-facing floor-to-ceiling windows welcome the morning sun and warm the living area. There are two slow-combustion fires that burn 24×7 over winter, with internal fans that blow warm air. Our ceiling fans are set to the seasons to move the air effectively to make the most of the warm air in winter and cool air in summer. The Highlands is famous for its favourable summer climate and all bedrooms have ceiling fans for summer, as well as individual electric heating for cooler nights.
Eagle Rock is a working farm and guests can expect to see our onsite farm manager attending to tasks on the farm during your stay. We will advise guests prior to your stay about the opportunity to interact with the farm animals – be it the gentle donkeys, pet cow, beautiful horses or baby beagles, or simply collecting fresh chicken eggs, there is always something to experience.
The Lodge is configured for 19 guests to stay across 4 ensuite bedrooms plus the mezzanine with two bedrooms and a shared main bathroom. Bedroom configurations are:
Downstairs (each with ensuite bathroom)
Bed 1 – Queen bed
Bed 2 – Queen bed
Bed 3 – Queen bed plus single bunk bed
Bed 4 – Double bunk plus single bed
Upstairs (with use of main bathroom):
Bed 5 – Queen bed
Bed 6 – Double bunk plus queen bed
We provide a plentiful supply of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion) in each bathroom for the duration of your stay. In the kitchen, there is a Nespresso coffee maker (with integrated milk frother) as well as instant coffee, filter coffee and tea making options to get your stay under way. Nearby towns of Mittagong and Bowral have major supermarkets where you can stock up on everything you need.
